A simple screening will be done, don't worry even if you are new to Dreamcatcher as the screeners are flexible!

How to stream

  1. Open YouTube on your browser or your mobile app

  2. Make sure you are logged in

  3. Search for "Dreamcatcher [Title of the song]" in the search bar. Make sure you are watching from an official channel

  4. Select the video

  5. Play the entire video at a quality of at least 480p at normal speed. NOTE : If you can, play it at least 720p to avoid it being counted as a low quality view and potentially deleted

  6. Watch 3-4 videos in-between each stream. Alternate between other Dreamcatcher content and other artists. NOTE : The videos don't necessarily have to be music

  7. Repeat step 3 to 6

Tips

  • Avoid bot-like behavior : search for the video manually, turn off autoplay, interact with the video and so on.

  • Get Youtube Premium if you can. Refer to the Youtube Premium page.

  • Views from embedded videos, such as those found in media articles and on Weverse, may be filtered; thus, please refrain from watching embedded videos during the first 24 hours of release. Please also remember to log into a YouTube account before watching embedded videos, or the views will not be considered.

  • Do not use playlists for at least 1 week after the video has been released.

  • Do not watch unofficial videos such as reactions and lyric videos, at least for the first 24 hours.

  • Do not delete the watch history as it allows YouTube to search and include the views.

  • Leave a like and a comment after your first watch to push the video to the recommendations.

  • Don't forget to share the MV on your SNS.

  • Comment but do not spam. Avoid using the words "stream" and "views".

  • Do not use the replay button.

  • Do not watch the video in incognito mode.

  • Don't watch the video on multiple tabs on the same browser. Instead use different devices with different accounts on each one. NOTE : don't use too many accounts for one IP address, not more than 3-5 accounts.

  • Disable your ad blocker.

  • Do not use a VPN.

  • You can skip ads.

  • Do not mute the video, instead mute the device if you are on a computer or plug in headphones/earphones.

  • Streaming the official main video is the priority.

  • During the first 24 hours, refrain from pausing, fast forwarding, or rewinding the music video consistently and/or excessively.

  • After 24 hours, it's actually fine if you pause or rewind some parts. According to YouTube, rewinding actually helps with ranking because it tells them that the video has some content worth rewatching.

  • NONE of the music shows count performance videos' Youtube views in their broadcast points.

  • If you are using Youtube Music and you have downloaded the video, your offline and background streams will be counted once you're online.

Youtube Premium

A Youtube Premium account allows you to watch videos without advertisements, download videos for offline viewing, listen to the audio in the background with the YouTube Music app, and access to exclusive content on YouTube and YouTube Music. Other than that, it follows the same steps as a free Youtube account.

A Youtube Premium account can make the streaming experience more pleasing and less bothersome. We suggest, if you haven't yet, to try Youtube Premium for free. Start your free-trial a day before the comeback or on the same day.

REMINDERS :

  1. Having a YouTube Premium account does not prevent the deletion of unauthentic views. Bad streaming habits and patterns will result in the views getting deleted regardless of the account type. Refer to the How to stream and Frozen and deleted views pages.

  2. If you're using Youtube Music, select the option "Video" to make sure your streams go to the MV and not the audio.

  3. If you are using Youtube Music and you have downloaded the video, your offline and background streams will be counted once you're online.

Streaming with playlists

Youtube counts one view per video per playlist. Meaning that, even if you put a video 10 times in a playlist, only one view will be counted for that video. DO NOT DUPLICATE THE VIDEO IN YOUR PLAYLIST.

Instead of using the old method of duplicating the song in one playlist, we suggest you create a lot of short playlists. Then, you can just shift from one playlist to another. We will provide playlists.

REMINDER :

We're asking you to only use manual streaming during crucial weeks, as manual views are reflected faster. In any case, we're recommending to not use playlists in the first week, only stream manually then.To know how to stream manually refer to the How to stream on Youtube page.

DO's & DON'Ts of using Youtube playlists

Do's :

  • Add a compelling description that includes the keywords you want to target (e.g. Dreamcatcher, Follow Us etc.)

  • Interact with the playlist at least once an hour by pausing, liking, commenting, etc. on videos.

  • Optimize the playlist for search by editing the title and description of your playlist.

  • Choose an eye-catching thumbnail.

  • PAUSE sometimes. It will make it look more organic.

  • Add non-Deukae videos in your other playlists (most organic listeners don’t tend to listen to only one artist). You can add kpop or also songs of the same categories such as rock, jpop, etc. You should also add songs that you just genuinely want to listen to as this would motivate you to not dislike streaming so much if you actually are actively listening.

  • Use different BROWSERS, do not use incognito.

Don'ts :

  • Don’t title your playlist anything that says “STREAM”, "STREAMING" etc.

  • Try not to title it based on the song’s name and/or album’s name as we can imagine other InSomnias would do the same. Try to use titles like “study playlists,” “work playlist,” “workout playlist.” Basically, titles that people usually would use for genuinely listening to songs rather than for streaming.

  • Views from playlists are added at a slower rate; thus, please do not use a playlist during AT LEAST the first 24 hours of release.

If you're on PC, use the queue feature instead of playlists

Views from queues are reflected faster than views from playlists. To create a queue, simply hover the video and click on "Add to queue". You can add as many videos as you want in your queue.

NOTE: Do not use queues during the first 24 hours of release.

Frozen and deleted views

YouTube has gotten exceptionally good at detecting streaming behaviour. As a result, and especially on kpop videos, frozen and deleted views are normal and reoccurring. Which is another reason why we're asking you to only stream manually during the most crucial weeks.Bad streaming habits and patterns will result in the views getting deleted. To know how to stream manually refer to the How to stream on Youtube page.

We also suggest to not stare at view graphs and/or the view counter: this will only stress you out needlessly.

DO NOT PANIC AND KEEP STREAMING.

Keep streaming even if the view counter freezes. The views are still considered and will be updated later.
